The
general theme about How to Fail at
Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Scott Adams is about making the right
decisions in order to make yourself as successful as you can be. Scott Adams
stressed the importance of being “selfish”. He feels that you can only be a
burden to someone that you care about if you are not maintained.

How to
Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big relates to what we are learning
in this class because it focuses on oneself as well as the people involved in
the business. In the book Scott enhances our awareness about oneself and the
importance of understanding “you” in order to be successful.
·
If I had to design an exercise based off the
reading it would be different scenarios that allows you to use the what Scott
discussed in his book about “Goals Vs Systems” Strategy which he used since he
was a teen. These scenarios would have clues and examples of a goal and system
and the students would have to decide which are goals or systems. Goals being
the end result and system, the action or decision made to achieve the goal.
·
The biggest Aha moment for me while reading this
book is when Scott said that “passion” is bull. What you need is energy. I completely
agree. Having the passion alone wouldn’t make you successful. You need energy
to help bring the passion to life. I have a passion to open up my own salon, my
own restaurant, and so many other things but I lack the energy to get up and do
it.
