9A- Testing the Hypothesis Part 2
9A- Testing the Hypothesis Part 2
Upon
completing the first set of interviews, I decided to interview five new
individuals. Each of these individuals are residence within a Home Owners Association
(HOA) managed community. These individuals should share the need that I have discussed
in previous posts, but for various reasons do not. Creating a designated parking lot for overflow
parking on every block is the solution to the challenge for parking due to
restrictions enforced by the Association.
The
first resident that I interviewed was a doctor and she stated that she doesn’t have
an issue with parking restrictions because I host most of my gatherings at a
restaurant or community center. I just figured that she is really is not
bothered by this issue because she is wealthy enough to host elsewhere instead
of in the comfort of her own home.
The
second resident is an antisocial elderly man that I interviewed said that the
restriction doesn’t bother him because doesn’t like to host gatherings and he
never has more than two or three people at his house at a time. He doesn’t like
big crowds.
The
third resident stated that she is a widow and it is just her and her dog. She is
the last of her family and chooses to be to herself. So, the parking
restrictions by the HOA does not affect her.
I
interviewed the US Postal carrier and she stated that she doesn’t have an issue
with the restriction either because she doesn’t have to drive through the
neighborhood. She parks her truck and walks mailbox to mailbox to deliver mail.
The
last resident that I interviewed stated that the parking restriction doesn’t faze
him. He still has gatherings and events at his house. His way around it is by
asking his neighbors if his visitors can park in their driveways. He also directs
his visitors into vacant homes driveway.
After
conducting this last set of interviews, I concluded that the idea of the
overflow parking lot is more for the so sociable residence in the community. Those
that are more opened to gatherings and functions with friends and family.

as social or find other means to gather outside of their home.

My need that I identified also had to do with parking, which proves that we need more parking!! I also believe that even the residents that arent as sociable would also be in favor of parking too, because im sure it would come in handy at some point. I can only think of few people who could oppose to the idea.
