14A: Halfway Reflection

As I look back on the past several weeks, I think about the goals that I created for myself for this course and what I accomplished. One of my goals was not to wait until the last minute to start assignments. Welp! Goal not accomplished. I cannot seem to ever get this one done. I am a born procrastinator. (deep sigh) I created reminders in my phone to help me remember assignment deadlines and I had to delete all social media apps to help me stay on task.

This course has been challenging for me on a personal level because I work a full-time job for a corporate human resources department. I rarely have time to do anything by the time I get home. The fact that I procrastinate doesn’t help me balance out my work affairs. After the storm, I was trying to play catch up at work and with my studies.  I found myself getting discouraged and wanting to just drop my classes and try again next semester. Especially after almost failing a test. I had to give myself a pep talk and look at a bunch of Steve Harvey clips on not giving up and finishing what I started. Steve Harvey motivational speeches help keep me motivated to finish my race. I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Three tips that that I think will help others next semester are: Don’t wait until the last minute to tackle assignments and even when times get tough, push! Finally, if you need help with anything concerning the assignments, reach out to your peers, TA, and the instructor. They are all here to help.

  1. Girl, I feel you. It has been quite hard for me to keep up with my assignments and I am only working part time- I cannot imagine keeping track of classes AND working full time! Way to stick it out and keep going in this semester. I am sure that with your continued determination and hard work you will be able to come through this semester stronger and more aware of ways to motivating yourself and getting things done.
